Remedial Massage

A targeted style that incorporates deep tissue work to help relieve specific areas of muscle tightness and fatigue. Remedial massage can help with many common complaints such as stiff necks and sore shoulders. It is also effective in helping to reduce stress and promote muscle recovery.

Swedish / Relaxation Massage

A relaxing style that most Western massage techniques are based on. It was developed in Sweden by Pehr Henrik Ling and uses firm, yet gentle pressure to help promote relaxation, ease muscle tension and provide relief from pain.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue massage helps to break up and eliminate scar tissue, it usually focuses on more specific areas and may cause some soreness during or right after the massage. The soreness means that your muscles have got blood flowing within its fibers and the dead cells once stuck in them are being flushed out of the tissue.

Hot Stone Massage

A hot stone massage is pure bliss and deeply relaxing. It will help improve your blood and lymph circulation, and calm your nervous system. This speciality massage involves the placement of smooth, warmed volcanic stones (black basalt) on certain acupressure points of your body. They can be left in place on these points, to act as a hot stone fusion – sending soothing heat deep into your muscles and body. Alternatively, the hot stones can be used as working stones, which are used to massage you muscles.

Cupping

Cupping is a technique that uses vacuum for negative pressure, rather than tissue compression. The vacuum draws up underlying tissues and superficial muscles, and when left on the skin for 10 to 15 minutes, the flow of blood and lymph increases and dead cells come out to the surface of the skin. This technique is used to treat muscle soreness, stiffness and tension. After cupping, it is natural that marks will appear and stay 3 days to a week depending on how much dead blood, lymph and waste products are drawn out to the surface.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a massage treatment that involves stimulating reflex points on the foot. Each of these corresponds with an organ or part of your body.  When a part of your body is unbalanced or diseased, crystalline or granular deposits may build-up at the corresponding reflex point on your foot. By gently stimulating and applying pressure to these points, your massage therapist can slowly work out and disperse the granules. This helps to reduce the congestion or blockages in the affected areas of your body, as well as stimulate your parasympathetic nervous system.
